There is a large selection of Palestinian vegetarian cookbooks and about veganism and vegetarianism in Palestine. The books listed below are 10 of my personal favourites. These books contain practical, traditional Palestinian recipes that might surprise you with their simplicity and ease of cooking. I am a huge foodie so I was really excited to find some unique vegetarian and vegan recipes for a change.

Yasmin Khan has traveled extensively throughout Palestine, researching traditional foods and dishes from all over this beautiful region in order to compile this cookbook for you. It includes 80 modern recipes with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and simple techniques. All proceeds go towards supporting youth education initiatives in Palestine!

She writes about growing up in Jerusalem’s Old City during the first intifada; she gives us an insider’s perspective on the challenges faced by women who cook for large families every day; she takes us back to her grandmother’s kitchen where we learn how to make zaatar bread from scratch. And through it all, Yasmin Khan reminds us why Palestinian cooking matters today more than ever before.

Domin V.

I'm Domin, a foodie and travel journalist. I believe that one cannot understand a culture without tasting its cuisine, so I spend most of my time documenting on the foods from around the world. As an entrepreneur and writer, I've interviewed chefs to give readers an inside look into their lives working in kitchens all over the world. My goal is to help people learn how to cook these dishes they may never have had access or opportunity to try before by recommending cookbooks for them when possible!
