About Robert St. John

Robert St. John has been an executive chef and owner of the Purple Parrot Café and Mahogany Bar in Hattiesburg and Meridian, Mississippi. He was born on October 2, 1961, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When he was in high school, St. John became a radio DJ. In 1979, after graduating from high school, he majored in communications at Mississippi State University (MSU).

He was engaged in writing a food column to feed several newspapers and hosted a monthly cooking TV show. St. John has been in the restaurant business for over thirty years and has been named the best gourmet restaurant in Mississippi. Also, the author received five Four Diamonds ratings from the AAA Travel Guide.
